You can take the carpenter out of the work, but you can’t take the work out of the carpenter…
Greg Abell. A retired carpenter of 35 years, loving husband, father of 3, and a honest, hardworking, woodworking man who KNOWS, and loves wood. After retiring in early 2023, Daddy-O decided to open the doors of his home-based wood-shop and sawmill to others beyond the usual family and friends. He turned his beloved hobby and craftsmanship into something he can share with the world. His brand is centered around using locally sourced wood from right here in Southern Indiana—think dead trees, downed trees, and logs that would otherwise go to waste—and the use of recycled materials, such as pallet wood. Daddy-O takes pride in creating rustic, natural, wood pieces, literally from start to finish. From cutting, to planing, to drying, to aging, to selecting the perfect type of wood— his creations are beautifully crafted, and made with exceptional skill and heart. Daddy-O’s masterpieces have that good quality, down-home comfort, rustic feel that you can’t just find anywhere these days.

DO YOU SHIP?
All of our pieces are handmade with SOLID wood, which can get very heavy and also pricey with postage. We do not recommend shipping, but please if you have a special request, shoot us an email at Daddyowoodworks@gmail.com.

DO YOU DO CUSTOM WORK?
Daddy-O is an artist. All of his pieces are handmade and as unique as the tree they came from. He puts a lot of time and effort into his craft. At this time we do not offer custom projects. We feel customization would limit him in his hobby and his creative mind. If you have a suggestion of an ideal project please email us.

I’ve searched high and low for the right plant stand. Could never quite find something that I loved for various and numerous reasons... until this beauty came along. Nothing to assemble. No weird lingering chemical smell. Perfect height. Super sturdy. It’s like it just belongs here & the fact it came from recycled pallet wood so it gets a whole new chance at life? Gahh!! Loving my outdoor plant shelf from Daddy-O woodworks! So rustic ! And watering plants on it just adds to that rustic look . Since I don’t get much shade in my yard area, it has allowed me to have pansies all through the summer because of the porch shade they get.
